Rima Fakih Scandal

The brand new miss America has been busted, so you're wondering what she did right??? Did she rob a bank, leak a sex tape, is she really a male, or is she an ex con with a very bad rep?? NO, Rima is being scrutinized and talked crap about because she had once upon a time entered a strip tease contest for a local radio station, in which she did not actually strip, it was a strip tease just for fun. The whole world is going ballistic about this and act as if she committed murder! There are past Miss America winners who have done far worser things, and they get off the hook easily than how Rima is being classified now. These pageant judges want a perfect saint like girl who can also take raunchy and whorish like pictures for the pageant, in which others are saying the pictures for the pageant are more worse than the pole dancing pictures. To me, these judges seem so ironic and hypocritical to me, and are also contradicting their morals and policies of the pageant. I just don't get it. Rima is innocent and she is a human just like everyone else, they should all just leave her the heck alone.

hey

I am so sleepy and tired today, this morning I could not force my eyes to open, i kept telling my alarm 5 more minutes, 5 more minutes please, lol. I had crazy guests over yesterday and i went to sleep late because they left really late. In other news, i ordered my new pink dell laptop, but it never came, I have been waiting for a week and the store people keep saying that specific colored laptop is out of stock. Why does that color only get sold so fast, i love pink, it's my favorite color so that's why I have to have a pink laptop, and I really need one to for my piling projects. I was so disappointed to know that they were out of stock yesterday, that I almost cried at the store, I feel like a pathetic materialist. I should not cry over a laptop while other people don't have food to eat in other countries, that's what I always tell myself when I want some thing that I don't really need. But anyway, I am still waiting and hoping I get it, but that's about it for today.

Project on Editorials

New York Times:

Dear Stanly Crouch,

I believe your opinion on the article called “Wall Street and the Corruption of It” was very true and well said. Finally someone exposed the real truth about the corruption of Wall Street and its greedy ways. In your editorial you discussed that the fall of America’s economy was all because of Wall Street, and I believe that is very true, however in my opinion the fall of the economy is not solely the fault of Wall street, and is maybe the fault of the current war that America has spend 3 trillion dollars on so far, is the main reason for the fall of the economy. If America had that three trillion dollars and have not been in war, America could probably have the most prosperous and abundant country in the world. There would be jobs and money for everyone, instead America spends it all on a pointless war, with the reason of the war swept under the rug. The article was also very reminiscent of a previous one I have read about corruption in Wall Street and, how ones greed leads to anthers distress, and in our case another is a whole country.

New York Post:

Dear Zuhdi Jasser,
I greatly agree with your article called “My Fellow Muslims, We Must Wake Up” on Islam in America. You stated that the Islamist radical terrorists in America do not reflect and portray all Muslims as a whole, but others do unfortunately. I slam is a religion o f peace and kindness and the growing number of Islamic terrorists seem to contradict the religion of Islam. These Islamic radicals were provoked and trained by together terrorists who want to do harm, and brainwash other people to become like them and fill their mind with slander, the only motive of these so called terrorists is anger and pure range, but not based on sane thinking and true justice (peaceful justice) unfortunately. Islam promotes non-violence, but these days extremists are doing the opposite of what Islam teaches, and now more than ever, Muslims should speak the true peaceful words of Islam.

Fox News:

Dear James Pinkerton,
Your article called “You Want Us to Believe You Can’t Use an iPad, Mr. President” on president Obamas technical disabilities was very judgmental. The article was very critical of Obamas skills regarding technology and I think it was kind of shocking as well. You stated that the president of the United States can’t figure out how to use and ipod, or iPad, and claims that it keeps the world too connected to technology, and not that connected to the world. Technology these days is the world, and with a click of a button you can instantly have all the news in the world, through video, audio, or in the text form! I cannot believe that Obama does not know how to use an iPad or even an ipod which has been around or almost ten years. I think a 5 year old can use one, but the 44th president cannot. You also said that Obama is anti technology because he wants to protect some information of the country from the American people, and therefore he wants us to obey his rule, and control the country in a way. I believe this statement is a bit exaggerated and the president is not that nuts to be that totalitarian. Obama is not a dictator, he is a president. Your article seems too wrapped up in you conspiracy rather than actual facts. But on the other hand, who knows what is really behind Obamas ignorance of technology.

Daily News:

Dear Lis Wiehl,
You article called “My Friend, Elena Kegan”, is a great article about our new female supreme court leader, and I very much agree with it. You have stated that Elena Kagan is an absolute gem with excellent qualification. You also stated that she was the first women dean of Harvard Law school, and myself as a feminist love your editorial already. You have praised Elena greatly, and I believe that was very kind of you to do so. Elena Kagan was the third female leader of the Supreme court, and was an amazing Dean of Harvard law. You have also said that your opinion based on Elena was bias because you personally know Elena and have built a friendly relationship with her, however in my opinion your opinion on Kagan is not bias because many other people have also had nothing but praise for her, and had similar comments about her as you did. Your article on Kagan was in fact true and accurate, and I enjoyed reading your editorial.

Comparison: Oil spill on the Gulf of Mexico:

Fox News: “Agencies to Hold Oil Spill Probe Hearing Tuesday”
New York Times: “Sex Drugs & the Spill”

© Both articles discussed the proper facts of the oil spill, ex: amount of gallons spilled, location, where, and when incident happened.

© Both articles stated that the oil spill was like “Obamas Hurricane Katrina”.

© Both article stated when the hearing was going to be, although the New York Times article was more detailed with the information. Fox stated that the delay in the hearing proves how unconcerned Obama is with the oil spill.

© Both articles stated which company was responsible and how the oil spill occurred. Although New York Times states the disorganization of the big oil companies are the main cause of the mishap on the Gulf of Mexico.

What Places I Would Like To Visit Before I Die.

There are many, many places that I would like top visit before I die, and I'm a fanatic for traveling. Ever since I was a little girl, I always dreamed about hoping on to that airplane, and going someplace that I have never seen, and at hat time, it almost seemed magical, or fictional for me to do such a thing. Now that I am older, I know that I can one day plan a trip to an exotic place that my parents have never heard of, or a place that is well known that everyone has heard of. Traveling is one of my most deepest passions, and the thrill of going to a new place that I have never been to before, and meeting new kinds of people was always my dream, and I hope that one say that dream will turn into a reality. There are many places in the world that I would like to travel, and many different cultures I would like to be encountered with, but I do have a select few of countries that I am more eager to see first.

One of the countries that I want so desperately to see is Japan. The island of Japan always intrigued me and fascinated me ever since I can remember. Me knowing that a little island of Japan can have such natural beauty, and yet be so industrialized/urbanized really interested me. When I was eight or nine, I remembered telling my BFF that one day when we were older, we would promise each other that we would go to Japan together. Now more than ever, I still want to keep that promise alive. Another country that I would love to travel to one day id the beautiful India. This Asian country is packed with so much history and culture, and is truly amazing. The ancient country of India had always fascinated me, and seeing the beautiful landmarks like the Taj Mahal gave me another reason to want to go visit India. France is also one of the countries I would like to visit for its traditions/culture, and the beautiful land marks. The Eiffel tower is one of the places in France I would like to visit. What I also like about France is the boat rides that they have in there rivers which seems so adorable to me.

One day I hope to visit these beautiful place, and travel to other place also, but for now I will stay in school, get my education, and hopefully do what I always dreamt of doing..... traveling!!

What Would You Wish For, If You Had One Wish??

If I could wish for anything in the world, I would probably wish that no child in the world goes hungry or cold ever again. Many people in the world, especially children have no food to eat, and are in terrible homeless conditions. This leads to massive starvation deaths and the death rate of children freezing to death is sadly also rising. In poor countries that are war torn, and economically/politically unstable suffer more with this staggering statistic. For example, countries like Darfur, India, Afghanistan, Angola, Bangladesh, Benin, and Cambodia have the highest starvation rates than any other countries in the world. When I hear about people especially children, dying of hunger and the weather conditions, it makes me very angry because food should not be that hard to find. I believe that everyone should help out and chip in money and supplies to provider food and shelter for other ccountries. If your neighbor had a fire and lost their food and shelter, wouldn't you go and help them out and give them a place to stay and some meals until they get back on their feet??? That's what Americans and other prosperous countries should do to help out worn tore Afghanistan and Darfur, or Scorching hot African countries, or the infertile countries like Chad or Rwanda. Its not a matter of charity and good deeds, it's a matter of life or death for those poor countries and they need our help. So my wish would be to never have a child go hungry and die of weather conditions like the cold or heat.

If I Had One Day To Live.

If I had only one more day on this planet, I might have a break down and be scared to death about my after life. On my last day I would not go to school of course, and just think about the past, and think about what I had done in my life and think of any sins I have committed. Then, I would just pray, pray, pray, and pray to god to forgive all my sins that I have committed. Then I would call all the people that I love and care about in the world, including friends, family, and even some of my teachers from elementary school. After telling everyone that I will miss them and cared a lot about them, I would then just spend the rest of my day with my family at home. I would also make sure I don't owe any library books because I don't want to have late fees when I am dead. Another important thing that I would do if I had one more day to live is, write my will. I would probably give most of my stuff to my parents and some to my best friends and cousins. After writing my will and telling my friends and family that I was going to die, I think that I would just relax with my family and hope for the best.

What I Would Do With A Million Dollars.

If I had a million dollars I would be the happiest person on earth. I don't want to spen all my money so I would first take a couple of days thinking about what I would do with the money, and carefully plan out what I would like to do with it, and what I need to/should do with the money. After that, I would finally inform my parents about my million dollars and then just tell them about what I would do with my money, and then just give them half of it. If my parents don't approve of my choices to spend my haalf of the money, then I would listen to and follow what they have to say. After all, they are my parents and their intentions are to try to keep me from going broke, and not to spend my money in a day. When it come to money, I think I'm the spender, If i have money I spend it, and if I don't have money I don't care, because I don't need it now, I'm too young. Also, a lot of my money will go toward charities associated with funding education and improving schools and giving supplies to schools in other poor and foreign countries. I believe education is extremely important, and without the proper tools for knowledge and learning, the world would never progress. With a million dollars, I can pay off my parents mortgage, and get a new car for my father because his is getting pretty old. I would also save enough money for college, for myself and for my three younger brothers. I might also get a car for myself because I am sick and tired of riding the bus. Oh yeah, I also want to get my seven year old cousin a pony because she always wanted one and I told her that one day I would get her one. :)

The MVB fashion show is soon approaching, and I can hardly wait. I love fashion, and I always remembered being interested in clothes, and patterns and everything that has to do with fashion. I watch fashion show religiously , and pay attention to every detail of the models clothing. My favorite designers are Karl Lagerfeld, DKNY, Dolce and Gabbana, and Carolina Herrera. I just love their spring/Summer 2010 fashion line, it was so colorful and flamboyant, and the pieces were so chic and wearable for everyday life. Here are some of my favorite pieces and shoes:

SpRiNg BrEaK

TODAY IS 85 DEGREES!! Can you believe it, it feels just like summer. Martin Van Buren students just started school today because sadly our spring break ended. :( The weather outside is the hottest it's been this whole year, and its the first time this year that I don't have a coat on. Everything feels so nice outside and I can feel the school year slowly ending. As I think about school ending, I also think about taking regents, and the test I dread the most.... SAT!!! aghhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!! I believe I'm not that well prepared and I had the whole spring break to do that, but you know me, I watched T.V all day and had fun, I had no desire to do any academic activities, even though I regret not doing it now. But hey you cant be a teen forever so enjoy it while you can. as the warm weather approaches, Six Flags is also on my mind and I dream about the day I will be able to go on King Da Ka with my cousins and friends. Did you know that King Da Ka is the fastest and highest roller Coaster in the whole wide world?? K ow do you know why I want o go on it so badly? I guess I am kind of a dare devil, but I have been that way ever since I can remember. I will never back down from a dare, and I am willing to try anything, that adrenaline rush is what keeps me going. Usually people don't see me as a dare devil, and they picture me as a quite shy person, which I am in school , but when I am with my friends and family, my inner dare devil is unleashed, and I am a different person. lol ;)
